- SSL offloading, SSL ciphers option
- Load balance for the back-end server farm
- Product support
- Template for different web application
- Quite a lot of different options to configure popular web applications such as Exchange OWA
- The template could be more user-friendly. Kemp could provide more examples of how to customize settings instead of just giving the package.
- The configuration GUI could be better by providing a guide or more options to choose from instead of typing in.

Kemp's Solution to a Balanced Problem
- Where the LoadBalancer excels is the multiple levels at which you can load balance servers. We currently use layer 7 LB, but others are available as well.
- I particularly like the ability for the LB to know when servers are down, and if all are offline then you can create a redirect to a static HTML page or some other destination that is more informative.
- The ease in which a service can be created and deployed using already pre-canned templates makes it a very convenient setup process.
- Really my only complaint is the web interface itself. It could use a bit of a facelift and start utilizing a more modern front-end. Mainly around each click is a page redirect which works fine, but many sites now save and load async while you navigate around.
Great Product which adds Value and Great Support
- Port balancing on our Web based applications.
- Increased Performance drastically.
- Increased User experience, making for happier users which in turn makes them more valuable.
- Administratively it could be more user friendly... more in intuitive.
Kemp, straightforward to install and configure.
- Load Balances on both port 80 and 443.
- Identifies which server is closest physically to the user for best responses.
- Identifies which server has the lowest network response time for the best user speeds.
- I would like to see better tools like wire shark built into the system.
- Immediate viewing and digestion of logs would be beneficial.
- I examine live grepping on a barracuda firewall and I miss that in the Kemp LB.
A big advantage for HA Web Application Deployment
- Quick, friendly and qualified customer support team
- Great documentations for their products and features
- Great value for price ratio
- Logging traffic statistics of virtual services
- Dashboard and graphical posibilitys to statistic usage data
Love this product! It absolutely does what it is advertised to do!!
- Application load balancing inbound for email.
- Geographical load balancing.
- Provides an EASY to use interface!
- Honestly, we LOVE these products. I have nothing to the contrary to say - maybe if they were FREE, but that's it!
Kemp LoadMaster A+
- Easy to set up and maintain.
- Easy to update, backup the firmware/software.
- Little to no maintenance.
- Responsive support that is willing to assist with more complex use cases.
- Documentation/Knowledge base needs to be expanded upon.
Great Product
- Easy to use. The interface is intuitive and there is no need to be Kemp expert to setup a new VIP or to make changes in the existing configuration.
- Unlike some other products, all options and buttons are present here in the same page. Once you quit the page, either you did it well and it works or it does not work and you did not do it well.
- Except for special rules, no need to configure groups or permissions or whatever in deep hidden pages before setting up your VIP. All you need is present in the same interface. Just click and select, that's all. The settings are auto applied.
- Reactive support. The Kemp support team answers fast with revelant information.
- The support knows that your time is important and does not ask for useless information. They don't ask for the 10 past years logs or what you have eaten last day ([questions with] no link to your issue, you probably got such weird questions with some other vendors )
- No weird issues.
- As far as I know, the Kemp LoadMaster does not create major issue for "bugs" or for any other reason. The appliances are stable.
- I don't know. For the basic needs I have, the Kemp LoadMaster is enough. But as said, my needs are basic (creating VIP for load balancing http/https sessions, and sometimes redirecting webpages ). So maybe this appliance misses features but I don't need them at the moment.
KempX1 Will provide 100% uptime for your Org

- Reporting would be a great feature.

Kemp - Easy Way To Protect Your Systems On The Web
- Reverse proxy
- Load-balancing
- Web Application Firewall
- Configuring advanced feature like ESP can be challenging.
- Logging viewing could be improved.
Leading load balancing solution for organisations
- Load balancing and smooth high availability solution specially for web servers.
- Some interesting key features are included with this solution, like WAP, SSL management, network routing, et
- The support line is unbelievably wonderful, they try their best to provide on-time support when need[ed].
- Kemp Loadmaster provides some great features to avoid network attacks, to further strengthen the security of our infrastructure, [e]specially our web servers. We’d appreciate to have a feature like Captcha to prevent advanced network intrusion.
- For the rest of the features provided by Kemp LoadMaster, we're completely satisfied.
- For a technical product, Kemp is fairly easy to use and performs as advertised without having to continuously log in to find out what's happening.
- Kemp combines web security with load balancing in one package at a price point that worked well for our constrained budget.
- Kemp's customer support and professional services are second-to-none, and much better than what we experienced with a previous product.
- The Kemp user interface is a bit outdated, but it is still effective.
- These products still require some knowledge of networking, and if you deploy as a virtual machine, you need to understand some aspects of VMware.
- Loadmasters run in Active-Standby. This allows me to upgrade the Standby member, fail-over to it, then upgrade the old primary member. 100% uptime.
- I can route load balanced traffic to a single server in a pair and perform daytime updates/patches on servers without causing service interruption.
- Security updates come out regularly, to keep up with CVEs.
- LoadMaster is regex in its context rules, this allows for some very granular configurations to load balance traffic.
- Can load balance traffic based on port numbers, allowing for non-http(s) to be load balanced.
- Load balancing SFTP traffic is done poorly and requires the SFTP to have its default gateway set to the LoadMaster.
- RADIUS authentication is the only allowed SSO and you must still manually configure each user on the LoadMaster.
- configuration can be a little confusing when getting started. Had issues getting it to recognize SSL during setup, support informed me that SSL required "Super HTTP" setting.
Kemp Loadmaster with Exchange
It is used world wide with around 2000 users, coping with a relatively small concurrency of some 400 users max.
- Highly configurable. Complex set of options allow configuration to almost any configuration needed.
- Very scaleable. Will cope with very large enterprises
- Quite stable, but not perfect. High degree of availability, and improved over basic exchange installation
- Complexity. You really need. highly skilled IT team to manage this device. This is not a solution or appliance for SME's - medium or large enterprises only!
- Bugs, during 2015-2016 we suffered from a. number of bugs that caused downtime that would not have occurred without the Kemp LM. This is especially annoying given that it was purchased to reduce downtime! During 2017 stability improved.
- Costs. This is a high cost solution with high ongoing support fees. Not for those who are very cost conscious
